Music Wellness
Music improves the quality of life for individuals of all ages by providing enjoyment through lessons, performances and songwriting. Music can also be used to promote wellness in children, adolescents and adults with mental or physical disabilities or illnesses.
Individuals with disabilities such as Autism, Down Syndrome, Williams Syndrome, Learning Disabilities and Attention Deficit Disorder, to name a few, may benefit from structured music sessions. Music sessions can be designed to improve academic skills, improve communication, increase abilities to recognize/express feelings and improve motor skills. These programs use music to work on "non-musical" skills.
Older adults with Dementia and/or Alzheimer's Disease may also benefit from a Music Wellness Program. Music sessions can be structured for individual or group settings. Music & Memories and Music & Movement programs are designed to stimulate and provide opportunity for individuals to express memories and feelings.
If you are interested in coordinating group or private wellness sessions in your home or facility, please contact us.
